Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Allison Dart is a licensed clinical psychologist at the Boston Child Study Center in Portland Maine. She completed her doctorate of psychology in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University New England, and specializes in working with infants, young children, and people who are pregnant or recently pregnant, using evidence-based treatment approaches. Dr. Dart offers individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy to help with many concerns, such as early trauma, child development, stress during or after pregnancy, grief and loss, and trouble with emotions or behavior.

Dr. Dart has worked in many different settings, including schools, hospitals, community mental health centers, other community settings, and within clients’ homes. During her pre- and post-doctoral training at the University of Denver and the University of Colorado Anschutz School of Medicine, Dr. Dart obtained specialized training in infant and early childhood mental health and development, which helps her to understand and support the important bond between young children and their caregivers. She is also trained in dyadic play therapies and Parent-Child Care (PC-CARE), and has experience completing in-depth evaluations to help understand learning, attention, emotions, personality, and more.

In her free time, Dr. Dart makes sure to make time for play, including singing, dancing, and playing outside. She especially enjoys spending time with her dog, Happy, who is always up for an adventure!

Dr. Dart cares deeply about helping children and families feel safe, connected, and understood. She believes that each family is unique and important, and she works with kindness and respect to honor their culture, values, and experiences. Her goal is to help families grow together and find renewed joy in their relationships.
