The journey to building a family can be an emotional one. Research shows that one in five new and expecting mothers experience perinatal mental health disorders, which most commonly manifest as symptoms of anxiety and depression. Without treatment, these symptoms can have adverse effects on the developing parent-child relationship.
Fortunately, perinatal mental health disorders are treatable. Our goal at Boston Child Study Center is to increase awareness of the importance of maternal mental health and to provide a comfortable and reassuring environment for women to receive evidence-based treatment for themselves and their growing families.
